Are you...:
Pregnant and considering breastfeeding?
Breastfeeding and experiencing difficulties?
Breastfeeding and interested in meeting other mothers who share you experiences?
Looking for information or support with breastfeeding?
If so then our meetings are for you...
What happens at an LLL meeting?
LLL Meetings are like a conversation among friends. Different ideas suit different mothers and their families. Your contribution may help another mother with a problem she is having, or may give her much-needed encouragement! If you hear an idea that doesn't suit you, leave it behind, and take away those ideas and suggestions that 'fit' with you and you family.
Our meetings are designed to follow the needs of your baby as s/he grows. A four-meeting series will focus on anything from the advantages of breastfeeding a baby or toddler (new research comes out all the time!) to gentle discipline. Meetings are tailored to the needs of the mothers attending, and are fun, interactive discussions! For this reason, meeting titles are provisional.
The essential message of LLL is Mother-to-Mother support for breastfeeding. While LLL Leaders are trained to provide breastfeeding information, mothers who attend meetings fulfil the vital role of supporting each other in their mothering, and giving each other tips on what 'worked' for them.
Never leave a meeting with a question unanswered, even if it’s not ‘on topic’! Or, you can always call you local Leader between meetings.
LLL Dinas Powys
It's great to have a place where mothers can go to talk about breastfeeding and parenting, and to feel supported in their decisions. We welcome all pregnant and breastfeeding mothers to come along and join in a meeting, where we chat, make friends, exchange ideas and support one another in our mothering.

LLL Dinas Powys
Our group has been meeting in Dinas Powys for four years and now has two Leaders (breastfeeding counsellors) helping at meetings. We have lovely toys for the children to play with while the group meets, and several mothers bring various healthy snacks. Cups of tea and coffee are always on offer, and the library has some great new books.
We have an extensive library of books, leaflets, and information sheets for you to borrow or buy. We request that books are returned within one month so that other families can benefit from them. Our library covers a range of issues including breastfeeding, breastfeeding in special circumstances, nutrition, parenting and gentle discipline, working and breastfeeding, and more.
